Thought I would post (since History is the theme) - that LST 325 (and LST 388) were the subjects of the Photo of the Month on the web site of the U.S. Navy Historical Center (Photographic Section) for the month of April, 2004. Web site is: http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/pic-mon.htm
- just scroll down the page. It is the well known shot of the stern of our beloved LST at low tide. The Photographic Section has an extensive selection of photographs of various vessels throughout the history of our nation - located at the Washington Navy Yard (very near where we were to be moored during our D.C. area visit this summer). But, you have to call ahead and let them know you are coming - whether to do research, or just to visit their museum or one of the vessels they have (USS Barry - DD933, whale Boat, LCVP, and Swift Boat).
