Response to Where's my electrician?

st. Don't buy ultra cheap bulbs made in China
nd. Buy 130 volt copper base bulbs
rd. buy a inexpensive digital voltmeter and see what kind of voltage you have in various parts of your house. If you have over 130 volts (which is possible) cheap bulbs can't take higher voltage.
th. If all else fails buy 240 volt bulbs. They will last forever. You have to double the wattage to get your normal light output. A 150 watt 240 volt bulb will put out 75 watts till hell freezes over.
th. The socket in your lamp could be loose or worn out.
th. Move to Minnesota.
