There will be two significant changes to this Discussion & Chat Forum in the near future:
1. Sorry, but as of August 1, you're going to start seeing outside advertising on here, and unfortunately I will have no control over the content or display (except that it certainly shouldn't be "adult" in nature). I sure do hope it doesn't get too gaudy or overwhelming. But the fact is that it costs money to keep the Discussion & Chat Forum ad-free. I don't know that the cost is justifiable. We'll try it out and see how it goes. And let those advertisers pay the bill.
2. Also, this will become a "moderated forum." What does that mean to you? When you make a post, it will not appear until it's been approved (so please don't post the same thing over and over again, thinking that something went wrong). I know that spontaneity has its value, but the simple fact is that we want to keep some kind of order in here without monitoring it constantly 24/7. If you've visited the other LST discussion forums, you'll have probably witnessed some of the problems that they have. To minimize the practical impact of this, I will designate one other "administrator" (with edit and delete privileges) and 2-4 "moderators" (with approval privileges).
I hope that nobody is unduly inconvenienced by these changes, but I feel they are necessary and practical.
