Response to Are they still there?

Both are still there and performing their original functions. The double stack building is SIGECO (Southern Indiana Gas & Electric), our power company. Now it's Vectren.

The single stack building is Reitz High School (where Mike Whicker teaches to this day). That photo is a reverse image. The river is actually on the left in reality and Reitz High school would be to the right of SIGECO.

I've come up with two possible reasons for this anomaly. One is that the trick photography was used to confuse the myriad of Nazi spies that infiltrated the Evansville Shipyard area. And the second proposition put forth is that the original photo was borrowed from the museum and reprocessed and enhanced by Mike Whicker's photography class at Reitz.
