I asked about "Days on Ways" vs. "Days on Water" - I believe that it is days under construction prior to launching vs. days required to complete construction and prepare for the trial runs and, hopefully, the broom raising.
The link prompted another question that I can't find an answer to. Do any of you know why the number sequencing of the LSTs is not consecutive all the way through? There were some 100 series numbers (my Dad's T included) that were built AFTER some of the 200 series numbers. Were contracts with other shipyards cancelled and the numbers re-assigned to Evansville?
