Response to remarks of a recent tour

Jim,
Upon reflection, Mosier's Raiders by David Bronson (web name -- Brolly) has a couple of chapters on the later preparation and practice for D-Day, and the 44 sorties England to various points in France June 6 to about September; it lists the LSTs by hull number. We used it to check likely beaching points at Utah and Omaha. Its naratives are added to the historical writing by Ambrose and video The Longest Day. The Portsmouth Harbor is recently graced by a "Spinnaker" monument (its about 400-feet high and visible at least 20-miles from the Channel, and it has observation platforms if you also visit Portsmouth; it's just outside the Royal Navy base and close to the Brittany Ferry landing.
