but it seems alot to remember! Looking at Bob's subsequent postings and reading your respose, it's amazing to me that you all learned as much as you did as quickly as you did.

Adding in the pressure/tension/danger of doing your jobs while under a prime target...

Was it difficult to be able to smoothly transition from one set of communication to another? Did you practice the transitions in addition to the practice needed for accuracy and quickness of sending messages? I'm thinking of flaghoist to blinkers to semaphore... all very different methods, all communication...

Was the method of communication up to you, as a signalman or beachmaster (dictated by circumstances) or was it determined beforehand?
