Response to progress report outstanding

Pharmacy Mate,

You’re not in that boat all alone, not being able to physically work on the ship. However you’re on that special list of thousands who continually support the ship before and after it was returned from Greece. The crew that brought it back, and those who continue to work on her are to be commended, but like those of the “Homefront” war efforts during WWII your contributions were vital. Without your support the ship would be in the graveyard of ships, the deep six.

Thanks for your service too. When you hurt real bad, those PHM guys have more than APC pills. Anyone who would like to read just one of the heroic acts of Pharmacy Mates should read this article. It's not WWII, but as revealed in the progress report LSTs served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as well as the Cuban crisis and Desert storm war.
