U.S Army Returns to LST’s design--just under a different name….

The U.S. Army is constructing a fleet of new ocean going ships equal to LST-325's size with a length of 320 feet and a beam of 60 feet. They are designated LSV’s for Logistic Support Vessels.

TRIVIA: Internationally, the initials which precede U.S. Army ships is USAV, and not, U.S.S. as for U.S. Navy.
