Response to Signal Bridge...

The weather was strange…days would be 80 to low 100’s, hot and humid, at night it could go to the 60’s or low 70’s, but at times it felt very cold to me because of the swing from the day by 30 degrees or more on the river. It was more the 24/7 dampness that was hard. We never seemed to dry out and fought mold….high humidity during the summer and buckets of water w/winds during the monsoon. Now, Vung Tau along the coast was very different and a nice place to visit, except during the flooding months…of course, more water. Now, the LST's anchored in the rivers had air conditioning and this keep the mold out of the ship, but not the dampness.
