This kind of thing should boil the blood of every veteran and every decent American. All decent parents of kids who go to colleges that allow this type of thing, and woefully there are far too many colleges, should rise up and put an end to this.
This is ILLEGAL (if Congress wants it to be) -- there is an official flag code that can be enforced if lawmakers chose to do so. Besides gross, intentional disrespect like this one mentioned in the post above, many violations of the flag code are seen every day even by patriotic Americans. An example is the flag as apparel. You often see US flag neck ties, jackets, T-shirts, even women's swimsuits. Even though many people who wear this stuff do so thinking they are being patriotic, it is a violation of the US flag code.
Patches or certain size depictions of the flag on clothing is not illegal, but the flag as the entire article of clothing is a violation.
The code is there, but it is not enforced. The United States needs to start enforcing the flag code.
