2035 land sighted dead ahead.
2115 column 1 veering to port. column #2 veering to starboard.
2130 approaching gold beach anchorage. using various courses to maneuver between anchored ships.
2150 received orders from control vessel to proceed to beach at gold beach.carrying out same. heading for beach
2200 heading for gold beach. ship can be felt to strike ground occasionaly.
2210 ship grounded.
2220 soundings taken indicate ship aground amidship.
2235 RED alert in ares general quarters.
2240 all stations manned and ready.started making smoke as pert signal area control vessel.
2250 plane sighted overhead. bomb seen released.
2251 bomb exploded in water 2000 yards opff starboard beam.no casualties observed.
2245 unable to retract.notified control vessel of condition.
2308 plane heard overhead.
2310 stern anchor walked out to 400 feet with aid of small boat. secured from removing ballast..
2318 Red alert
2321 AA firing from several ships nearby. searchlights sweeping sky.
2332 mine layer laying smoke screen ahead.

0305stern anchor heaved in. housed, bow anchor veered to 35 fathoms.
