I hope that that Laker was loaded down in that sea. On Navsource.org check out the USS Hornet and USS V.alley Forge. That is what GREEN water can do to a carrier. USS Carl Vinson has a conning station just below the flight deck all the way foward. We took a wave that blew out the port holes and carried away about 40 ft of catwalk and antenna mounts, not to say, stoved in a part of the Hurricane bow. It also blew out the stuffing in the anchor hawspipes and 1st div had quite a cleanup.
