Response to Thanks Jim...

Good morning SeaBat.
I think it's high time you obtained your own amateur call sign. With your natural curriousity, I think you would really enjoy turning on a radio that can be your ticket to the world.
A ham license opens up the world, and outer space, to you.
To be able to talk with someone from across town or around the world.
You can even talk with the International Space Station.
Can you imagine talking with someone in another country just like friends?
You know, normal chat like "where do you work" how are the kids, what do you do for recreation, what is the weather like over there?" The magic happens when you find you have something in common with a total stranger that you like to talk about.
The first license is not that hard and you don't have to learn code until you want to.
We would be glad to get you (or anyone of our crew) started.
I must warn you, it is habit forming.
