to our shipmate Chip Lanham.

Chip's father, Charles, was the Engineering Officer on LST 876. This morning Charles went to his final port of call - two years to the day after the passing of Chip's mother.

NOTE: I, personally, will never forget Chip's dad... when I was doing the history of my own Dad's "T", Chip's father was one of those who proofread my draft copy and helped answer questions and gently corrected my errors. It wasn't his LST, but he wanted to help me make it special for my father's shipmates. That's the kind of man he was...
