AHOY MATES!

The Turn-Around for Freedom Fest was great, hope all of you that could go had a good time, we left on time and got back on time - the old Gal is lucky to have such a great Crew!!!

YMCA Camp Kids - In groups of 60 today and two more groups of 60 tomorrow AND - another 2 groups of 60 on Friday!!! Then it looks like we have 50 grown ups on Saturday between a Hog (Biker's Group) and the Navy Moms Club.

Glenn Morrison greets each and every kid, answers their immediate questions ("How old is the ship?") and does a great job for LST 325!

Larry Robinson, John Engstrom, Roy Stofleth and Dallas Fickas -- split 'em up and head 'em out -- oh yes, and Otis "Bing" Bingmeyer was given a tour today by two of his GREAT GRAND KIDS and 12 of their friends.

Everyone has noticed the 20 MMs and how good they look - Jim Scott (Gunners Mate, Ret.) is giving his son Eddie a quick course on weapons care. The Marines have helped out with some needle gunning on the 20 MM mounts for Jim, but they keep working on the forward 40's in the nice weather.

We have not heard from the mover for the LST Office building yet, so thats on hold.

There are 4 - 40 MM anti-aircraft guns in Little Creek that have been given to the ship, so if you have a friend with a big truck, a crane, and likes to load and haul strange things, please contact the office.

Ohio Marine Services has estimated it will cost not more then $50,000 to clean and paint the first ballast tank. They want to proceed with the first tank on a time and material basis. This is part of the ship's 5 year maintenance plan.

There is a P-250 pump (like new) in LaCenter, Ky on Ginkleville Rd - given to the ship. If you can pick it up, let me know and we can contact the donor (You will need a Chevy truck to pick it up!).

It's also time to start working on the 2010 Calendar for the ship, we have lots of pictures, most of next year's dates for activities are worked out; so if you want a rainy day project give the ship a call.

Remember July 5th - that's the LST Museum day for us - every Museum in Evansville has a special that day and the 5th of July is the day we give a 2 dollar discount and raffle of - 2 "T" shirts!

That's all for this week from me - some of this you ask me for, next week I will get into some of the LST Week and MVPA Plans.

I have added those of you who have contacted me this past week, I just hope I got your e-mails correct!

And if you get this and no longer want it - let me know -

And George - it's just Kenny!

As you were!
