Pittsburgh has been chosen as the site of this year's Amphibs Week (formerly known as LST Week). There will be some limited information in your upcoming issue of The Phoenix, but please bear with us as we finalize pricing for hotels, tours and events. That should be accomplished in the next two or three weeks. Even though Pittsburgh is a very large city with a great deal to offer, we have negotiated successfully to keep pricing low and now are waiting for contracts for the Board to approve.

The choice of Pittsburgh as the location for Amphibs Week was made with a great deal of thought - it's rich history of LSTs and the shipyards makes it a perfect fit. Many of you may have even traveled through Station Square on your way to pick up your LST.

Over the next few months, the Committee will be posting historical articles here so that you can see for yourself the great opportunities available to us during our visit.

This first article was submitted by Steve Watt. I know you'll enjoy it!
