Response to our sister ships-

As I have said this question continues to come up, but always glad to try and set the record straight. You can ride the Long Island Ferry as our Chief Engineer has done several times. The Columbia is privately owned, but if docked somewhere they would probably show you around. The 393 folks are working hard and if in Muskegan it is worth seeing for sure.
We had a great stop in Pittsburgh and we will be back someday. The people who came to see the ship were very nice, patriotic, and continued to thank us for bringing the ship to their city. 1946 was the last time an LST came to Pittsburgh -- LST 512, which also was a museum ship! It was Navy run. We could not have been treated better than we were in Pittsburgh, Wheeling or Marietta. We thank all of you who made this possible.
