You would think that with rationing the Gov't would want the consumers to get the maximum number slices from a loaf of bread. I remember the bread slicing machine in my grandfathers bakery and I don't recall the thing being down for parts. When my uncle closed shop in 1998 it was the only piece of equipment not sold. Last year when I asked my cousin if the 20qt Hobart mixer was still around, she said no, but the slicer was still there. Guess no one wants a 75 year old slicer that still works.

Then again a Juke Box manufacturer was making Juke boxes on one line and ,30cal Browning Machine guns on the other
