My friend, Susan Hurd Barr, is an organizer for Honor Flight. These people work hard to secure funding to take WWII Veterans, and those from Korea and Viet Nam eras to see their memorials in Washington DC. They do a tremendous job and the trip is free for the Veteran. They have sent out a plea for the following items. If you can help, please respond below and I will connect the two of you. Please consider their efforts and support them if you can!
"Looking for more wheelchairs...have several states that really could use the donation. Let me know if you have one in usable shape! Also need small umbrellas, disposable cameras, AA batteries, and SD cards for digital cameras (the vets come with 32MB maxed out and no way to delete what they have on there, so this has been a big need recently.) Maybe your company had some of these items for swag bags and have left overs? And if you want to write a letter to them for their "mail call" - or from a class room of kids, we can use letters too!"

Make sure you use the link - there are those who do try to mimic but charge a fee. THESE Honor Flights are absolutely FREE thanks to the many kind sponsors. |
