Yesterday, December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

Many have forgotten over the years. This generation thinks of Pearl Harbor as a vacation destination.
Many can not tell you where Normandy is located on a map. Names like Saipan, Iwo Jima, Dunkirk, Salinero are meaningless to many today.
The battles of Crete, Midway, the Bulge, Stalingrad, Moscow and more are known but a few historians.
WWII had over a million American casualties. I have talked to students taking tours on the LST 325 that could not even tell me when WWII was fought or who fought who.
Freedom is not free. Take time today to pause and reflect on the freedoms you enjoy, paid for by our military.
