Recent years have witnessed a dramatic change in methodologies and techniques of teaching language in the classroom – becoming more challenging and more effective. And that’s what I like about my job!
I’ve a very strong interest in pursuing my teaching career as an ESL (English as Second Language) teacher. With years of teaching experience in instructing students of different age groups and various socio-economic backgrounds, I employ a blend of the best teaching techniques in instructing English and developing skills of the students. An ESL class consists of students with different learning styles & age groups , so, my lesson plans are incorporated to achieve its objectives whilst catering to the needs of varied learning styles i.e. based on inductive or deductive approaches, TBL (task based learning) or communicative learning approach or PPP (presentation, practice, production), explicit or implicit explanation of grammar rules. My ultimate aim is to turn the students into autonomous learners. I try to achieve that goal by gradually working with students through controlled, semi-controlled and then freer-controlled activities in class where in each student can feel safe, secure, special and appropriately challenged. In addition, I integrate technology into my class instructions aiming to arouse students’ interest and enthusiasm towards the subject.
