We are a group of friends who have come together because we share the common bond of caring for someone who has Trisomy 21. We are here to share therapy tips, medical issues, laughs, accomplishments and yes, even frustrations. We embrace what Trisomy 21 has brought into our lives. We feel that it has taught us to appreciate the true meaning of life. We count our children as blessings! We will fiercely protect them and fight for their lives to be valued just as all other peoples' are. We share our pictures, our stories and our hearts here not only to provide friendship and support for each other, but also in the hopes that others will open their minds and their hearts to our unique children and, in turn, make a better world for everyone.

Hello, I am new to this site, but I hold something very dear as do you all. I love someone with an exra chromosome. He is the most loveable, stuborn, cureous little boy I know. I am a mother of 3, 17 almost 18 girl, a 9 almost 10 yr old girl and then a 7 yr old w/DS. We are looking to add another to our family. My husband and I really thought about having another, but then we realized there are kids that need adopted and we would love to do that. I am a stay at home mom with of course the normal, school, therapy, doctors, and house stuff. My husband works and plays with the kids when he gets home. We live in Indiana. If anyone knows of a baby or young child w/DS needing adopted let me know.

Down syndrome baby

June 18 2008, 3:16 PM

Christie, I know such child in Moscow, where I live. She is a nice girl, small, only 1,10 monthes, just starting speaking (you can teach her English still as her native language) with blue eyes and light-brown hair. She is waiting for caring and loving family. She already walks holding one hand of the nurse, ascending and descending staircase. Doctors tell that she will develop and speak as time goes. Here in Moscow there is nobody who loves Down syndrome babies and they live all life in special orphanages. If you want I will send her photos. I know so much about her because I visit her from time to time, but I can't take her as my family is against it. Please write to me if you have possibility to visit Moscow and take baby without waiting for years and standing in queue.
Best regards,
Sveta
