As the turnout for the Maple Xmas Bash was on the poor side last night (and the excuses for not attending were poorer) it has been decided that all players who missed the above Bash last night shall have to clean the football boots of those that did manage to come out and have a laugh.
Laziness, under-the-thumbness, drunkeness, tiredness, moving houses, being ill or surrounded by kids - NO EXCUSE.
Eddie, Ste A-B, Mitchell, Campbell, gk Jon, Barney, Dean, Varley - expect a pair of boots arriving on your doorstep soon.
Dubbing can be bought from all good sports shops, and please make sure you replace any duff or missing studs.
Spick 'n span.
Refusal to carry out this task will result in you becoming 1st in line to wash the kit...
Thank You
from
Geoff, Sag, Nick, Ian W, Bob (closet Liverpool fan), Matt, Ade, Gary, Tim and Shing.
As we didn't come out, we didn't have a top night out with the lads, therefore we are very depressed... as way of compensation for missing out on such a great occasion we have decided that the people who went on the night out should clean our boots, to make us feel better.
Anyone deciding not to clean our boots should move to the front of the kit washing duties as an alternative way of saying 'sorry you're feeling miserable this X-Mas and didn't have a top night out like me'

Don't think of it as a punishment for not coming out on one of the two ocassions in the year where we all go out for a laugh, think of it as re-integration back into the life of a Maple Leaf player.
Cleaning boots or washing the kit will surely spur you lot on not to a bunch of Wendys and come for a pint next time... with the bonus effect of the feeling that you lot are still a part of the Mighty Elves FC and showing eveyone how committed you lot are!
Some of you lot should have been committed already...

As you are no doubt aware the reason that most people didn't go was that management had told all players, in a widely circulated memo, that the Christmas celebrations were off this year due to poor performances, during november, in the league.
The management team and several key players understood and followed this directive to the letter.
We don't need to spell out the punishment for disobeying such a clear message. You will all be receiving a pair of muddy boots shortly.

^ Poor management in the league in November, as well as key (probably luxury) players not performing well led to a cancellation of the Xmas Bash?
It certainly does explain a lot...
