| - Another defeat for Maple.
If you're a realist then you've got to think that 4th is beyond us now.
I'm not a realist.
I believe on our day we can beat all but two of the teams in this division* - but, for some reason we can't manage it. Be it defensive lapses or missed chances we can't seem to put together 90 minutes of the sort of quality football that we all know is in the locker.
Take todays (5-2 defeat at home to Wylde Green) we played some really nice football at times and cut them to ribbons on many an occasion. We couldn't finish it. At the other end they didn't have a whole lot going on, but a few defensive errors cost us dearly.
If you looked at which team looked more comfortable on the ball, which team looked to create quality chances - it was us. In the most part we looked fairly comfortable at the back too.
If we can play our good stuff at both ends of the pitch, for 90 minutes, for 5 games and give it absolutely everything I believe we should be aiming to get at least 10 points from our last 5 games - if we do that, and don't get promoted at least we've shown how good a team we can be - and it'll be a great platform to our division winning season next year.
(it will also be our most successful season for quite some time)

I must say lads you are one of the teams I counted on getting promotion. You have a good bunch of players and should look to keep playing with heads held up high.
Good look for the rest of the season.

Maple have a tough run-in - the remaining fixtures are against teams all above us in the league - but despite Saturday's result we must still keep on going until the end and pick up as many points as we can.
This could well be the 1st season in which Maple can record more league victories than defeats. With the local derby vs Meriden and a tight game with Handsworth also coming soon it is time for players to step up and prove their worth to the team.
Recent results for Aston prove they are far from unbeatable, and we gave Elmdon one hell of a scare before capitulating 20mins from the end last time out.
The season is far from over yet.
C'mon the Mighty Leaf.
