Hi lads, im writing as the manager of an amateur team here in Ireland. I'll tell you what the situation is and why im getting in touch.

On friday the 21st of March our team are heading over to birmingham for the weekend, hopefully to catch the Villa - Sunderland game, but basically lets say a few drinks will be had. Over here its a bank holiday weekend so we don't have a match and we were wondering if we could get one over there on the Sat morning before the villa game at 3:00. We'll be dying im sure but it should be a good laugh anyway.

We'd prob need a team near Villa Park and near our hostel if possible.

58 Milk Street,
Digbeth,
Birmingham

Would you be able to reply here with suggestions of someone who ticks both boxes (if not yourselves) and whether or not teams play in england on that weekend?

Thanks
Ian, Orwell FC

Hi Ian,

Apologies for not getting back to you sooner - I emailed the people who run the Maple Leaf team to let them know that your teams' visit to B'ham and wish to play a friendly game vs us - unfortunately I haven't heard anything back from them yet, so don't think they're too interested in it.

If you're still looking to find a team to play I can only suggest you get in contact with the people in charge of the Birmingham & District AFA Leagues - they may be able to sort you out some opposition very close to where you are staying that weekend - and may well be of help on other things too.

I also suggest it may well be worth trying the following clubs - each club is well established, close to B'ham, have their own private pitches, changingrooms & own bars, and a good set of lads as well.

I'm sure there's a reason for not being able to play but i wouldn't mind going to watch the game - keep me posted.
