I have a few reasons:
- to become a better person
- self defence
- fitness
- because it's something I have been doing for years and I can continue doing it forever without getting bored.
I train in martial arts and martial philosophy, because befoe i knew what it WAS, there was something missing in my life, i was bemused by the fact of going to work and getting a normal job, the only thing that could satisfy my need for expansion and knowlage was martial arts. i practise so i can defend myself, but the main reason is because i want to test myself to the limits, find out what i am truly capable of, a lot of my friends say theres more to life than reading and exercise, and i know there is, i just have this want inside me to follow the path i'm on, and to try my very hardest to learn and train. it has made me very wize, as i devote most of my hours to it, and wisdom is something i have been searching for, for a long time.
I feel that theres so many things to explore and so many levels of understanding about those places, and indeed everywhree, that its like im a child in a candy store, where everything's free. i must evolve my physical and mental self, so that i can become ultimately wize.
also, to me, training in martial arts is not about mastery, but about continual learning and developing, and this process improves me and my understanding of myself, and of many other things.
all that is why i dont just go aorund starting fights, because i see why that will lead me to great ignorance, and i see it is a futile course.
Wisdom is what i seek.
