Hi Everyone,
I am so happy to have found this board today! My company got solicited by Vendor Pro this morning. I decided to do a little research on them and came across your posts. About a year and a half ago, my company was solicited by The Shop America Network. To make a very long story short...we were taken for $13,900 and have very little hope that we will ever see that money again. There are thousands of other small businesses in the same boat. We have received no help from the Florida Attorney General, the FBI or the local police departments. SAN is based in Mirimar, FL. Dianne Mercer, John Kyle and John Diamond are some of the major players in their "company". They are linked with Crystal Blue Media. I am NOT saying that there is any link between SAN and Vendor Pro...ALL I ASK IS THAT BEFORE YOU SIGN ANY CONTRACT WITH VP, YOU DO LOTS AND LOTS OF RESEARCH. Have any of you looked up the address and phone number for VP in the state of California? I did and neither of them exist. The BBB says they have a satisfactory record with them. We saw the same results when we searched for The Shop America Network and then after we were scammed, thousands of other people started to come out of the woodwork claiming they had also been scammed for $13,900 and in some cases much more than that. PLEASE PLEASE do your research. I see a couple of people who ran into some problems with VP on this board. From my own personal experience, that would be enough for me to stay away from them. This is all my opinion and based on what I have been through. If you want to talk more about this, feel free to contact me via my email address. Respond here and I will get back to you. Thanks for reading this post. Take Care
I was solicited and looked at the site of course you can't get in without signing up for $340
so I CALLED the rep and of course its only a phone line answering service with those annoying BEEPS in the background and said he wasn't 'in...I said yes he just emailed me....and while we were talking on the phone the SALESPERSON sent me another email so I knew he was working somewhere and not where I was calling
NO address no phone..they just want credit cards and offer a lot...but did you see the testimonials...I wouldn't buy any of those products
so thanks for your insight..I will take my $340 and place ads in great magazines.
I too am a small business trying to find the best place to spend a few marketing dollars on the net. I saw your message about vendor pro. I am in the research stage but am leary about these things. Have you found an internet marketing plan that a person could at lease expect some return for the investment?
I also received an email from VendorPro so decided to do some research. Did you notice that
all of the positive, encouraging postings on the Entrerpreneurs Home Business Link Discussion
board all came from IP address
68.169.169.49 or
68.169.169.22
this suggests that the same person posted all of these messages but under different names. Most
postings also did not include an email address. Seems fishy to me.
I was contacted by VendorPro and, being skeptical, wrote to ask who the principle players are, what their backgrounds are and what the address is. Naving read you note I am glad that I did not sign up.
Thank you.
L
Thanks very much for taking the time to post your message about VendorPro. I'm a small publisher with, of course, limited resources for advertising, and I was on the verge of forking out $340 to give them a shot. I mean, the prospect of getting into a lot of big-name stores for an outlay of just $340 sounded mighty tempting. But, having run into more than a few scams in my life, I figured I'd better sniff around a little bit with Google. Their website and their pitch reminded me of a used-car salesman I once met in Illinois in the early 60's. Anyway, thanks for doing me and public in general a great service.
Hi.
I have just read your report on Vendor Pro. We were approached by them by e-mail and were thinking of signing up. But after reading what you had to say we are not sure that we want to go ahead. We thank you very much, you have probably saved us a lot of money.
In a way it is dissapointing because we were hoping to expand our business of handcrafted chocolates in the USA.
Again thankyou.
Thanks for bringing the other side of the coin to light. I was just about ready to sign up with VendorPro when my self admitted, web geek sister in law, found your site and forwarded it to me. I guess I was blinded by the thought of opportunity to reach 1000's of buyers. $340 wouldn't have broke us but I can sure put it to better use with some advertising in magazines like the Sierra Club Magazine, for my hand made, tree free journals.
All the best...

Here is the problem...They send you an e-mail that shows they've been on your site. I, too, was excited when I first read it. After I went on their website, I found I couldn't contact any current clients for their opinion (I ALWAYS do that before I join any paid membership). So I googled them and found a lot of posts that related them to a scam.
Thanks for all your posts. It saved me $340 and a lot of heartbreak!
