So I get this thing in the mail from Show Jewellery, and as I am going through their site, I see this thing about the "Safe Internet Council". Do a Google and nothing! After more searching, I find this site and after reading what Show Jewellery is up to, am glad I stumbled on it before sending my $82.85 to get a package that would indicate I would have to BUY the supplies for stuff they want me to assemble.
Are there any home-based assembly jobs that do NOT require upfront money?
Oh, sure, they charge you so that can be sure you are honest, but isn't it a two-way street?
Shouldn't they be honest as well?
I was just interested if anyone has any complaints with the pay or how long it takes to get a payment for his work and if it is worth the time? Lamont Selby.
We are dealing with company for more than 8 months. We earned sofar $800.00. But in the beggining I have to go through BBB (Better Bussines Buero) to get my first payment. After that they payed regulary. Last week I got my stuff back and they have lost some buyers, so we have to wait to get our pay cheque.
At the end of August I also recieved a letter from Show Jewellery stating that they had lost two magor buyers. They are owing for four units, plus I had just purchased 5 units of supplies. Do you think the BBB can do anything. I was told that I would be receiving a letter by October 15/05. Have you heard anything yet?
We got the same letter from ShwoJewellry and requested to hold the set. I hope they will response this month. Otherwise I will send a letter to them. I think we can't complain this because they have send us back the set. So we will see.
I also got my two boxes of completed bracelets returned from Show Jewelry and they asked me to hold on the bracelets by October 15th,2005. However, it is now December and I have heard any back from them. How about your situation. What is you next step to deal with them. I feel that we can initiate a group legal action against them.
Also trying to find a online business directory for Canada for further quick search - not easy...
What normally works is if the mailing address is a actual site(not PO box), punch in the address in google in quotation marks.
Many compnaies share buildings, it will bring up physical sites [nearby] with phone numbers, that can be called to verify if there is such a place as advertised.
Have tried over 5 isp's (go.com, metacrawler, webcrawler, Dogpile, and CNET) to find info on "Safe Internet Council", and more on showjewellery - nothing.
i just finished reading an email sent to me from this company and, before i think about it any longer, do you know of anyone who has tried this 'offer'? Is it legit? i dont want to send in money that already cant be afforded, to find out its a scam or the bracelets are next to impossible to make. My family could really use some extra money right now.
Yes, a couple of people on this board have tried, and that's what made me not give them money. The part the "offer" does not tell you is that you have to pay upfront for all the components to make things, and the initial $80+ you pay is for components to only five bracelets. That is, if they even send them to you! Other people have been burned by getting nothing!
I am so glad I found this website. I was thinking of enrolling with Show Jewellery, but wanted to look online first. Thanks for posting warnings on this scam. I did a reverse lookup on www.411.ca on their address 275 King St E, Toronto, and the only place that came up was a storage company.
I actually lost $225 approximately to "SHOW JEWELLERY". The truth is, to make those bracelets properly, you'd end up making less money than third world child labour workers. I got ripped off bad and I'm throwing it all out. Wow did I learn a lesson!
Is there anyone who HAS made money from show jewellery? And how much would it cost you to get supplies for 30 bracelets? They pay you $285 to send them 30 bracelets, so how much profit do u make after ur done paying for the supplies? Also, how often can they send u supplies?
We bought first 5 and 30-piece box. My wife has spent 3-4 weeks to make perfect nice 30 bracelets and send them three weeks ago. We have not received any thing from them. I have sent a letter last week asking the status, still no answer. They have replayed imminently before. Now we lost. I will follow these guys and find out.
yep they cashed the check and never sent the kit, and it's almost imposible to contact them for refund. if they have ripped off so many people why hasn't anyone done anything about it???

Based on BBB files, this company has an unsatisfactory record with the Bureau due to failure to respond to a complaint. However the business has resolved most complaints presented to the bureau.
We just sent our 30 bracelets in and have not heard back from them its been 3 weeks almost...I think I too will need to file a complaint. This is not right...who knows how many people have been ripped off. Remember to keep all docs they mail to you including the envelope.
I ordered online from Show Jewellery, and paid $82.85 for what was supposed to be a kit large enough to create thirty bracelets. THAT WAS IN MAY. THey sent me a letter saying there was a problem with the credit card and I once again ordered same package. THAT WAS IN JUNE. It is now January, and all I have to show for my money is about FORTY unreturned, unread, returned e-mails. THey have refused to contact me or rectify this in any way.
*sigh* I found out about show Jewellery in a *Work at home directory*($49.95) I had bought online. I got scammed with that too...:( 79% didn't exist anymore.
I wrote to Show Jewellery and got a couple days later the info material.
I enrolled online and payed the 85$ and 10 days later I recieved my Starter Kit just to found out how expensive it is buying the beads from them. $ 61.00 for a box. I wanted to do the beading job and bought 2 boxes with my visa card online. Shortly after, I recieved ONE envelope with beads.
2 days after that, I recieved another envelope with the same Quantity of beads. I have NOT ordered another 2 boxes. I checked my visa account and found out that *Show Jewellery* took UNAUTORISED the same amount out of my visa. I know payed total $327.93 to show jewellery.
Dec 28 I have send in the first 30 braclets. :( silly me!!
I am waiting every day to get my first check. I have patience 2 more days... then I will go further. This is not axeptable.
It was not the threatening words that worked out. It was the BBB who sent a letter to them. They answered to BBB that they were busy due to holidays. It was October/November time. I do not think this was holiday time:)
I know how you feel; I've been taken on several similar "business Opportunities". In fact I had been nearly burned out on owning my own business. I went last year to a seminar and the speaker talked about safeguarding yourself against scams, business failure and burnout. I left with one of his books and it has changed my life and business by creating clarity, direction and passion that has turned my blundering attempts to real profits. I'm not rich but at least I'm comfortable and secure for the first time. I also suggest reading some of the stuff at his site. Get his book "The Core Success Journal" at www.charlesspeaks.com. Click on products I think.
If anyone knows of any good books I am always interested.
I just received the letter requested from showJewellery, but thought I'd look online to get more info before sending a cheque. I'm glad I did. I will look into this Core Success Journal. thanks.
Yep they shafted me too. I have not yet received nothing from them. I only wish I would have done some research on these guys before handing over my eighty bucks. Advise to anybody who thinks there gonna make some quick cash with these guys THINK AGAIN. If you want to throw your money and time out the window, than this is the right job for you. This is only my experience and my opinions. Take it as what you will.
There is a christian run company, Disciple's Cross, in Slidell, Louisiana that lets you assemble cross necklaces. You buy the material and they buy back the crosses. You can also sell the crosses yourself if you like.
It's model is very similar to Show Jewellery but from what I've read on the net people do get paid. You won't get rich but it's a normal salary for onest work.
