I know you may find it hard to believe. According to the Official Bruce Lee timeline from the Estate:
June 24, 1967 - (Bruce Lee) Appears at All American Open Karate Championship at Madison Square Garden in New York.
So the dates match up for me. And like I said, reviewing the footage, the fighter who looks and fights like Lee makes several points of contact. No points are given to him, he just keeps delivering the same sidekick.
