A new TV biopic on the life of Hong Kong's Bruce Lee started shooting in the kung fu superstar's home town, Shunde city in south China's Guangdong Province.
The local Foshan Daily newspaper, reports "The Legend of Bruce Lee" is being shot in the ancestral home of a local family. Hong Kong actor Danny Chan is playing the martial arts legend.
"I'm a little bit nervous and very excited. But I will try my best to portray this role," said Danny Chan.
Danny Chan says he's been a big Bruce Lee fan since he was a child. He learned Jeet Kune Do, the branch of kung fu Lee established, and often imitated the star.
When he grew up, lots of people started to say he looks exactly like Bruce Lee did when he was young.
In 2000, Danny Chan's likeness to Bruce Lee landed him the chance to play the part of a goalkeeper in "Shaolin Soccer". The film was directed and led by Hong Kong comedian Stephen Chow, who is also a fan of Bruce Lee.
"I hope the drama will spread Bruce Lee's 'never give up' spirit during the Olympic 2008," Danny Chan said.
