Thanks for sharing that interview. I believe the original plan was to have more fights on at different weight divisions so you are correct Bruce would not be fighting Joe Lewis. They had fallen out by the time of this event (Jan 1970) and for months prior at the end of 1969 Joe was not training with Bruce.
I think Bruce would've fought someone like Skipper Mullins who was in the lightweight division, Norris was a middleweight etc. Joe was the only one to answer "YES" after Faulkner's initial contacts about putting on the 1st full contact kickboxing event. Joe, Greg Baines and Ed Daniels were the only fighters to agree to fight full contact at this event.
Lee Faulkner would be the man to ask to get definite answers on this matter but we know that Bruce was concentrating on a movie career at this point in his life.
