Response to Reasons why they dared not talked in front of Bruce
Except they did talk publicly in front of Bruce. After Lee broke his own word not to talk about the fight and bragged to the paper how he won, David Chin (an eyewitness) wrote to the paper and gave his version of the fight to correct what Lee said. Later WJM was interviewed by the paper and gave his version, (the newspaper came to WJM, not the other way around) and offered to fight Lee again, this time in public for all to see, instead of in private, where it would only be Lee's word against Wong's word. WJM waited for over a year for Lee's response to the challenge. It never came. Why would the loser of a fight who lost so convincingly, offer to fight again, in public? Just to be even more humiliated? Makes no sense.
If Lee had not "yet been able to turn the other cheek" and had "yet to refuse one challenge", why didn't he accept Wong's public challenge? If Lee won so convincingly the first time, why didn't he simply accept Wong's challenge and fight him in public? That would have settled everything right there and shut Wong up permanently.
