Thanks Tony and sorry for the late reply (just return from CNY celebration).
Yes, the fan letter you mentioned could be found in HK BLJKD magazine issue no.10 – “Bruce Lee tells us the secret of combat.” (I got the complete sets of these 70’s poster magazines). In that fan column, A.Stone from England wrote his experience jogging with Bruce around 1971 in London. He met Bruce while jogging through Hyde Park in an early morning. Bruce was jogging too and then came up to him. The rest is about the same as you mentioned in your post.
Between 1970-1971, Bruce was trying to recommend Wu Ngan (who was living in London then) to Jhoon Rhee who had opened a chain of TKD schools in America and even Dominican Republic (refer to Letters of Dragon for details). Rhee was short of instructors and perhaps Wu Ngan was also looking for job then, therefore, Bruce became the middleman though Ngan did not became Rhee's instructors eventually. So, the above timing matches with Bruce’s flights to London. Hence, he should be in London more than once.
In the 60s & 70s, there were many transits as certain flights from a country/region to another is not direct (cruise is similar especially for long distance travelling, ship would stop at a some places to top-up food supply and refuel oil etc). The flights back then took a longer time, especially from Asia to Europe and vice versa. Hence, in this sense, Bruce should has transits in some countries where some of us might unaware of, for instance, Moscow as Lazemby mentioned and Manila as mentioned in my post. Sometimes, Bruce would get out of the airport and visit some places when necessary, like he visited Wu Ngan in London for few days (Not sure about Israel and Moscow). Also, in 1959, he visited Tokyo and Hawaii while the ship he boarded stopped at these places for few days.
It’s a good sign to see fans coming forward to contribute what they know about the countries (with credible source) which Bruce had travelled. Please do so for other BL topics as well. Keep sharing great info, rare photos etc. would make this BL forum even better for all the real fans. :)
