Response to No, not Hwang, Chieh did it himself

Good observation from both dragonb and Samuel regarding Chieh's doubled by Hwang In-Shik though both have different viewpoints.

Assistant Cameraman Leung Hey-Ming confirmed Chieh did the stunts himself. Chieh was a martial artist himself (Besides being a bodybuilding champ in mid 60s, he was also the HK Karate Champion in 1969 as well as a Thai boxing and Kung Fu practitioner), so between Chieh and Tien, probably James Tien, a non martial artist needs to be doubled. But in actual fact, both didn’t.

This was supported by Peter Cheung who said he didn’t see any Hwang’s pagoda scenes or scenes which Hwang doubled for Chieh. Nevertheless, he did see extra footage Hwang shot with his teacher Ji Han Jae. They were rehearsing with the stuntmen in NT. It happened in at least 2 different occasions (one likely on 21st Oct when they arrived in HK and another one between 28th – 30 Oct where they just finished filming the pagoda scenes). Hwang also did an extension scene in TKD kicking style with Bruce’s choreographing. Also, Peter Cheung recalls Bruce topless choreographed the 4 stuntmen rehearsed with Hwang in the fight. This was probably the ground floor fight with Bruce and his 4 allies in GAME. There was also a brief moment of Bruce showing his kicking prowess where all the stuntman including and Hwang were all knocked over and threw backward. In addition, Cheung mentioned he saw Hwang and Ji performed some TKD and Hapkido katas besides hitting and kicking shields in front of the camera. That's more or less about it.

Further research shows that apart from GAME, Hwang came over to HK to film “The Yellow Killer” (aka “Kung Fu-ry”) starring Pak Ying and Bruce Liang (produced by Alpha Motion Picture). A key note is that his image in “The Yellow Killer” was similar to the GAME’s outdoor scenes photos. Also, during this time, Hwang might have came to see the post production of his 2 finished films WOTD and FOU as well as negotiated his next picture deal, “The Treasure’s Devils” with GH.
