Response to Kung Fu
Who doesn't know James Lee was the first to use the word Kung Fu for his book in the late 50's U.S. but Bruce Lee was the one who popularized it.
He used it publicly in his teaching, '64 long beach demo, '65 screentest, 67 black belt interview etc. Though he spelled it as Gung Fu but it's the same meaning as Kung Fu. It's just a Cantonese pronounciation of the word. It's scarecely known to the public unless it's in the Chinese martial art world. But still, many American martial artists referred to it as Chinese Karate or Oriental art of Chinese etc. back then in the 60's.
If it wasn't for Bruce Lee and his ETD's worldwide impact, Kung Fu won't be found in the dictionary. For this, Bruce Lee's contribution is undeniable.
