In the mid 60's some guy has an idea for a TV series about a Chinaman wandering the old west dispensing justice via martial arts. Nobodys interested. No surprise there. Some years later Bruce has a similar idea, the execs are excited, but mainly because of him, his charisma and Kung Fu skills really sell the idea. What happened then. Simple, they got cold feet about an Asian lead but they've become really attached to the idea - so Bruce is out and Carradine is in. Bruce's idea for the show that was actually made is stolen and they have some old script that no one was interested in to fall back on as a defence. Remember a lot of this crap can be written over a weekend (The incredible Hulk is essentially the same show), Kung Fu was the angle and Bruce was the catalyst for the whole thing.
