"The Big Boss" was initially made available for a private limited screening at Golden Harvest's private company theater on October 23rd, 1971. A few other theaters were also given the opportunity of showcasing the movie, according to people who have seen TBB in it's full uncut glory.

The official world premiere was October 30th, 1971 at the famous "Queens Theatre" in HK. As previously discussed, October 3rd is wrong because production for "The Big Boss" had only been wrapped up by then.

Both Singaporean and Malaysian flyers, along with their respective distributions, were produced by Cathay Films. Cathay Films was the film distributor in South East Asia for Golden Harvest LTD. in Hong Kong. "The Big Boss" would premiere inSingapore at the "Jurong Drive-In Cinema during November 27, 1971 and February, 1972 in Malaysia.
