Fred Weintraub tells the story of how he sealed the deal with Golden Harvest to make ETD. He says Chow was reluctant to sign. When Fred told Bruce that he didn't think Chow wanted Bruce to be an international star, Bruce turned to Raymond and said, "Make the deal!"
When George Lazenby first had lunch with Bruce and Raymond Chow, Bruce told Raymond to give Lazenby $10,000 HKD, which he did.
Please explain again how Raymond Chow "owned" Bruce Lee?
Yes, Lee made a two-picture deal with Raymond Chow and Golden Harvest on a handshake. After those two movies, Bruce formed his own production company (Concord) which partnered with Golden Harvest, also on a handshake. But that handshake went both ways. It meant Raymond Chow also didn't have any legal documentation. They trusted each other. That trust continued right up to GOD.
Please explain how this made Raymond Chow "own" Bruce Lee?
Yes, they had their disagreements and squabbles. Nothing that would lead anyone to believe Raymond Chow might one day murder Bruce.
Linda's problem getting money from Chow after Bruce's death had more to do with the fact that a lot of Bruce's finances (like living expenses, up-front advances, residuals, etc) were all off the books, in the form of unenforceable oral agreements. It took Linda and Adrian Marshall and accountants years to untangle.
