No wonder the Romans build the Limes line and limited it along the Rhines, for they knew they couldn't control what enetered from the east. The Germanics weren't worth the effort of being conquered.

You should try punctuation. There is no secondary point when one offends the natural French superiority over the lesser races of europe.
Germanic is a ludicrous term, used collectively to refer the unruly savages (Franks excluded of course) east of Germania Superior.

And you have a tendency to think Nordic = germanic, which is even more ludicrous. Only the Goths could be said to be Nordic of the Germanics. THe Frank had tremendous Celtic input like most germanic living near the frontier of gauls (they settle for centuries in northern Gauls prior to the invasion). Burgundi and Bavarian are nearly pure celtic, speaking a Germanic language. The Alans were from the midddle-east. The Sucambri originated in from the Caucasus.

I don't care whether he is an admirer of France; there are basic lines he shouldn't cross, simply because it goes against our fundamental views of France. If you destroy the foundation of a doctrine everything collapse. I agree with him on the broader sense, but there are fundamental lines that cannot be allowed to be crossed.
The myth of German purity goes against French interest because France is made up of a variety of peoples clued together by the principle of Frenchness. So we have to invent three fundamental races Gauls (celtic), Franks (Germanic) and romans (latin) as a compromise to all these peoples. Even if I think of a possible viking heritage in Normandy, this concept has to be denied automatically, since Frenchness is the central doctrine. Minor input like Viking, Briton and Burgundians only add to the complexity.

The Sicambri didn't originate in germany. Germanic is a rather superificial term. The Salians were the most succesful group of the Franks and they had lived and mingled with the Gaul (Belgae) for centuries. The Franks were succesful because they were romanized.
