George Bush assigned Dick Cheney to find him a suitable Vice Presidential Candidate......Dick Cheney in turn nominated himself and Bush accepted lol. It's pretty obvious that Cheney ran the show or at the very least did as he pleased with no accountability to anyone much less the President. His position was more likely Co-President than Vice President. What's also clear is that Bush did as he was told and put absolutely no thought into the VP choice since he "delegated" that to a guy who picked himself LOL This was just a foreshadowing of how he ran his presidency for 8 years. Let others make decisions on the tough choices.

John McCain met Gov. Palin once 6 months ago. The second time he met her he offered her the VP position on his ticket. Clearly this was McCain's choice as reports are that none of his advisors had Palin at the top of the short list much less the long list. This is also a foreshadowing of McCain's decision making skills. Very little information gathering, no due diligence, completely emotional decision making. He is already known as a cranky old guy with a temper. This type of careless decision making is just reenforces that he is not a clear level headed decision maker. Gut feelings and emotions should not be what drives our nation.

Palin is not very qualified to be Vice President, but then Obama is not very qualified to be President. He's a one term Senator from Illinois that spent half his time out campaigning for the Presidency. He only attended 45% of the votes during his term in the US senate.

Lets face it, neither McCain or Obama will be a competent President. Both will be controlled by powers behind the curtains, which is why they were nominated. The Neocons play Bush like a puppet and will do the same to McCain/Obama.
