I cannot believe what just happened to me. Remember I mentioned that Isabella and I were trying to get free tickets for the breast cancer thing at Baylor where Rue Mc is speaking?
Oh my God. The woman just called me and told me that not only does the board want us to be their guests BUT oh my God.
She told me that they would like to get me to the hotel where Rue is staying and be there on the 19th when she arrives and the chef is going to let me cook she and her husband a private dinner. They want it to be a surprise since I cooked for her once before and she loved it so much. It will be heavily publicized also.
I'm one of Miss Rue's biggest fans. I usually fall asleep watching The Golden Girls reruns. No matter how many times I've seen them, they still make me laugh. My take on her is that she is a neat lady....and an Oklahoman to boot!
Got another call and they called Rue to give her the option of dining out or staying in their suite and me cooking for them. (they had to let her make the choice)
She remembered me! and opted to stay in and I cook. She will be calling me at the big apt so we can plan the menu. My 29. Radio Shack phone may never be the same. LOL.
Now, CopCop.........I will tell her that I want to cook for all of the Golden Girls. If that happens, watch out for the big O.
Maybe you need to start getting used to cooking for celebrities. Maybe Rue will tell all of her celebrity friends about you and you'll wind up moving to L.A. or N.Y.C. so you can do that full time. I rue the day.
But like Paula, I too would like to hear the story of the first time you cooked for Ms. Rue!
I think one of my favorite lines of hers from Golden Girls, said very matter-of-factly in that very southern accent, went something like, "I love my family, but...they were trash."
Glad I saw that ad in the paper. Funny thing it was only the 2nd time I picked up the paper here.
Maria, it was meant to be! Congratulations! I am I thrilled to be going with you to the event the next day!
Ya know, you can take the girl out of New Orleans, but ya cannot that the New Orleans out of the girl! You will be a wonderful ambassador for our very loved city, no matter where you reign!
Rue is in for a real treat!
Good going! Like I say, when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.
