you say that many catholics denounced the IRA. However, many many more (including those yanks) supported them. Makes me sick. For over 30 years we had soldiers (propper army who did not hide behind masks) being shot and snipped at to keep the peace in northern ireland.

But the ira not only killed squaddies they also mudered civilians inlcluding kids??? How wrong. Oh and yes the loyalist had their downside as well, before you start on them.

In a way, the yanks got away with supporting the IRA, so in a way 9/11 was good from a certain point in that they then knew what it was like to be attacked by scum and then contiually be looking over your shoulder, so to speak. It was their wake up call.
