With the poll that I made yesterday, this IS the Mini Class A state!! What a wild weekend of wrestling we're in store for! I went down last year to watch what all the hype was about and the wrestling skills at this trny are unbelievable! This year isn't going to be any different. I'm not as good as the Lock when it comes to this kind of stuff, but i'll give ya what I got. Here goes nothing...
103 This is going to be a great class to watch. The little guys on their feet are spectacular. Last years finals are once again going to be the same as this year. Johnson (BL) over Clark (ORI)
112 Good class of wrestlers here, nobody really sticks out in my mind. Zurcher from Orion and Peterson of Oregon will be in the limelight of this class, with Peterson getting the nod
119 I think this will be a preview of the state finals. Mike Ryan and Tommy Hill. Ryan is ticked that he's got the #2 ranking (matmens) and he wants it from Hill. Ryan will win over Hill....via pinfall in the 3rd!!
125 Tough weight class here. But I'm gonna go with DeCap over Hollowell. It will be a close one. I always enjoy watching the Hollowells wrestle, great family!
130 Not really a stacked weight here. Like 112, they are all good, but nobody will stick out. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Warlop vs Loy in the finals with Loy coming away the victor.
135 Gosa, Milks, Schwarz, Jones, Jo-E and of course, Robbins. Wow! What a weight to be at....not!! Robbins and Milks in the finals, Robbins the champ.
140 Wheres Tol going to be? I've heard 140 and 45? If he's here, its his weight to win. Hinzman will be in the mix as well, don't count out Olson from Dakota.
145 See above..wheres Tol? Also, Harvard's here this year!! Bradys back up to 145, he was too weak at 40. Lind, Cox, Brady, Kindelsperger, Olson, Kimberlin, Lankford...Yahh...sign me up for this class... I want to see a Lind vs. Brady matchup, but I truly beleive it will be Lind and Cox in the finals with Lind on top.
152 Another stacked class. Pieritz is the favorite going in being ranked #1. But could this "Mini State" be where the Pioneer gets his first loss of the season?? Lock, don't hate me here...Pieritz looses a heartbreaker to Vickers of Coal City. 8-6 in OT! WOW!
160 Nothing really to talk about here, Murphy is the favorite to win, but Gatten will give him a challenge. Wheres Bauer going to be? 60 or 52??
171 Where the big boys play! Coach Alber made a statement in a paper a few weeks back that his kids at 71 and 89 are a lock for the titles. Eeeeeasy Coach! A few other wrestlers may have something to say about that. Wenger over Kaufman in the finals. It'll be close!
189 Winterhalter runs away with this weight. He's just too tough. I think you'll see an upset from Harvards Adam Schultz over Webster of Pittsfield. It'll be a good match. Winterhalter over Schultz in the finals.
215 The PITS money maker!! LOL Vercelli and Haeflinger. Haeflinger lost to him at state last year, a great match. Being from Harvard, you know who i'm going for. Here comes the hate mail.... Haeflinger over Vercelli...via...PIN in the 3rd!!
275 Coop's the man!! This will be another state finals preview. Cooper vs. White. Cooper will put the big man down. Some good 3rd and 5th place matches here as well. Cain, Hawk, Stack, Grant, Meza. A good weight.
Well there ya have it. Those are MY OPINIONS. Don't knock em too much, try doing it as well!! Oh ya, teams... Hmm... Bloomington won't be as tough as they were last year. Alleman, Dakota, Harvard and Oregon will be battling it out for the top spot. Harvard won their 16 team trny where 14 of the 16 are top AA teams. So it'll be interesting. Good Luck to everybody!!

This is going to be an exceptional tournament! I think the 'Cats are going to suprise a few people......... Everyone should be back and healthy for the first time this year. I think Talley, Peters and Alberico all have a shot at the finals. Peters and Alberico are undefeated, Talley's only loss was to Holder. I see the 'Cats being one of the top 4 teams IF everyone is indeed back and healthy.
