Laos, 2007
I was looking at stuff to process this morning when I came across this one from an '07 trip to Luang Prabang. Nope, I didn't choose this one because of the perceived drama... you know, the usual scruffy looking girl crying in some corner. I chose this one because it made me smile. Yep, smile. The village that we visited over there can be considered as "poor" in the sense that there wasn't much by way of anything. It was no different from the far flung areas that you'd visit over here. But as poverty-stricken as this place might seem, I couldn't help but smile at the idea of a girl crying in some really cool looking outfit. I have a 7 year old of my own and I can imagine her wearing something like this and she'd look cute in it. Hehehe
