I am definitely fascinated by the contrast of sharpness and softness. The sharpness is exactly where it needs to be—and only there, while the rest of the picture is so silkily soft. This beautiful smoothness is further emphasised by the play of light and shadow, whose uncontested master you are. Just look at that shiny, smooth hand, the radiance of the girl's dress and—on top of all—that glistening, divine tear. The eyes are huge and the (dangerously sharp) reflections reveal a whole slice of life taking place in front of this girl just where we, the observers, sit. A masterpiece, Echi.
