(or is it a girl?) was thinking at the time of the shot. Something down there must have amazed him, maybe the view of an island or a big city? In any case this beautifully lighted half face appearing there in the dark makes this picture really meaningful to me. Besides the beauty of the composition itself one can also feel—perhaps at a second glance—a slightly oppressive quality. Has something happened perhaps? Why all that dark?
