Response to #2 is very surreal... reminds me of space invaders, the video game...

and are probably one who is not easily impressed, so I'm always pleased by your positive comments. And I don't mean any of that in a negative way. The quality of your work speaks volumes about who you are. happy.gif I'm finding that I am taking a large amount of pictures these days but becoming much more critical of what I will eventually accept. I believe I'm gettng better with tonal ranges and my artistic eye is getting better and better at picking out unique photo captures. And yes, northern California has some fantastic photo opportunities--all within driving distance. I'm amazed what I can find each time I drive "out there". I feel like I'm Alice in Wonderland at times, and maybe that is why I have a surrealist bent to my works. I never want to lose that child-like fascination with the outside world--which is created into photo essays by my inner world.

I have also realized that to develop and grow creatively is to stand firmly behind one's artistic philosophy while continuing to study other's styles--not to copy--but for inspiration. It motivates me to find new and better ways of creating my art. Of course you are certainly one of those I study closely. happy.gif

It would be fascinating to get people such as you, Eduardo, Casey, James and all the rest over here and observe the differing artistic expressions of the countryside. We could all take a shot of the same scene, and I could bet each shot would be unique with our own creative thumprint. I find this whole hobby just absolutely fascinating! happy.gif

By the way, I do have a portfolio now. I'll have to email you privately as per the rules here.

Best regards! happy.gif
