if the focus is off ever so slightly in #5. However, I understand your point. I have the Nikon 50 1.8 and you just aren't going to get very good focus below 2.8. IMO anything below 2.8 had better be a very close-in shot with everything else defocused for effect. My wife uses my 50 mm all the time for her cooking blog photos for this very effect doing macro food shots. Personally, I like my 60 2.8 much better for portraits, although that 50 mm can be super sharp--just as yours-- when set up just right.
