It was a beautiful weekend in Philly. Just beautiful.
Owen placed the two large branches and then made the stone bridge/art. I told him he was a young Andy Goldsworthy, and so when we got home I shared my books on Andy (my favorite sculptor who uses natural materials) and an internet video or two. Now that he knows who Goldsworthy is he wants to go back and try something more elaborate. Good kid.
Owen took this next one with my crap-tastic Holga. Evan seems delighted to be the subject for his brother.
the Holga. I let him use the Hasselblad and Ikon, but of course there are rules when using expensive equipment. When I gave him the Holga I made sure he knew there were no rules at all, that I didn't care if he dropped it, and that all twelve exposures were his. I showed him how it worked and he was off and running. It was great!
